Trump slogan for re-election no longer "KEEP AMERICA GREAT!", back to "Make America Great Again"

This might have flown under the radar a bit, what with Trump’s 100,000 people rally turning into a complete dud and barely “packing in” 6,200 into an arena that holds 19,000 people, with an outside rally cancelled because they had not a single Trump faithful showing up for that.

I noticed right away when looking at pictures and video of the Tulsa rally that the official Trump motto for this comeback rally was that old slogan “Make America Great Again”. The signs that were handed out to people as they entered the arena had that exact slogan printed on them.

A large banner was placed above the tunnel area of the arena.

Banners were hung all around the arena containing the slogan, complete with a come-on to text Trump.

So, WHAT HAPPENED?

Trump had announced that the new slogan for his 2020 campaign was going to be “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”

Trump: 2020 slogan will be 'Keep America Great!'

President Donald Trump on Saturday offered a preview of his 2020 campaign, announcing his new slogan will be "Keep America Great!" because 'Make America Great Again' is now outdated.

So, ok, understood. The slogan for the 2020 campaign would be “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”, with or without the exclamation point.

Trump even polled his audience last year at a rally in Orlando which slogan they prefer, and the crowd went nuts when “Keep America Great!” was introduced.

'Keep America Great' makes the crowd go wild

Speaking in Orlando, Fla., Trump issued a common refrain for his rallies and asked the audience of supporters which slogan it preferred: the classic “Make America Great Again” or the more recent “Keep America Great.”

The rallies Trump had last year and this year were all done with that theme: “Keep America Great!” and “Promises made, Promises kept”. Trump’s last rally was in Charlotte, NC on March 2, and Trump’s motto, all around the place, was “KEEP America Great!”

A few examples:

Not a SINGLE reference to MAGA, anywhere. They had shelved that slogan for being outdated, no longer made sense. It was gone from all signs, placards, banners, websites, etc.

However, it is back. It has been revived from the dead. The slogan that was deemed “outdated” and old is now the one Trump runs with for his campaign. It was all over Tulsa. It will no doubt be the Trump campaign slogan going forward, until November. Gone is “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!” Dead and buried. Gone is also “Promises Made, Promises Kept”.

Now, in a way, that is entirely understandable. Most people don’t think for a nanosecond that America is GREAT right now, what with the Coronavirus epidemic, 40 Million people unemployed, racial strife and protests about police brutality rocking the country. Only very few consider things in this country to be going great right now:

It would be considered humorous and evoke hysterical laughter if they used the slogan “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”, given the shambles we are in as a country.

So, back to the old motto “Make America Great Again”, it is. Except, that slogan IS stale and outdated. I mean, Trump had 3 ½ years to make America Great, as he had promised. Instead, he made a complete mess of things and has thrown the country into absolute chaos. So, he wants to ask the American people to, once again, give him a chance to “Make America Great Again”, as if he didn’t already have 3 ½ years to do exactly that and having failed miserably at doing so.

Trump’s NEW, old, slogan is once again “Make America Great Again”, they dumped their new motto “KEEP AMERICA GREAT!” for obvious reasons, but America isn’t buying into it this time.

The slogan, once considered genius, is as stale as Trump himself!
