A man is facing charges after hundreds of screws were scattered on a street in Freetown, Massachusetts.
A surveyor with the town's highway department said workers have collected at least 100 screws a day along South Main Street.
Police have arrested 56-year-old Peter Vasconcellos. They said they found construction screws in his car that were identical to the screws on the road.
"It was so frustrating to come out here, and I'm like, 'What the heck,' and I saw the screw right there between the threads. So I'm like, "Oh my God. I don't believe this,'" one driver said.
Neighbors believe tractor trailers driving to and from a Stop and Shop distribution center may have been the targets, however police have not discussed a motive in the case.
